Dancing Kids

I remixed another video of the kids dancing. I added some jazz music to it, since my camera doesn't record sound. Hope you enjoy this little Dancing Kids Video!

Future Krispy Kreme Worker

Summer School Update #2

Today is Caleb's First Birthday!! Happy Birthday, Caleb! He was in his Nursery class for the day, though. They brought in a mobile bear making machine (kind of like Build-a-Bear). And all the little babies made stuffed animals. Here's the machine:

And here's Caleb hard at work:

The nursery workers were going to throw him a birthday party after the animal-making fun, but you can see Caleb was fast asleep, so they gave us the cupcakes and his gift and we celebrated as a family at lunch. He really enjoyed his gifts. Overall he had a nice birthday, I think.

On Saturday we went and ate at the Route 66 Steak-n-Shake. It was fun. Pretty cool to know you're eating at a restaurant that was around during the famous Route 66 days. The burgers were good, too.

Summer School Update #1

Well, we have officially made it here to "Summer School". We have a little time in between classes, so I thought I would post an update. I haven't taken as many pictures as I'd like, but I do have a few.

The kids have enjoyed their program so far. They really keep them busy. Caleb has gotten better with his class, though he still cries every now and then when I drop him off at the nursery. But he keeps getting better.

The food is not bad at the cafeteria. They actually had biscuits and gravy this morning! :) So, we are slowly plodding through our five weeks here. OK, now for some pictures.

We spent the night in a hotel on the way to the school. Here's Caleb playing with the a/c unit.

We stopped at the world's largest McDonald's on the way. It crosses over the interstate. Pretty cool.

Here is the view from inside the McDonald's.

Here is one of our dorm rooms. They're not too bad.

Josiah's birthday was yesterday the 19th. We had taken him on Sunday to Incredible Pizza (sorry no pics.). He had a great time. Here he is opening his present.

You can tell he really liked it.

The kids classroom is all done up in this pretend land called Mt. Jambo. Here is where their head tribal leader sits. Fun, huh?

This is where the kids "buy" snacks. And they actually have to barter for their goods just like they would have to in another country. They are really trying to give the kids a feel for what it will be like to live in another country. The kids love it.

The kids are broken up into tribes. These are their "tribal tents".

I'll try and update again maybe at the end of the week. So, until then...

And We're Off!

Well, we're leaving this morning for "summer school" at our headquarters. It lasts for five weeks. I know, that's a long time! I'll try to post during that time some pictures and what we're doing. We'll be back July 21st, so until then...

Lookin' Good

Don't they look good? The kids all got new "Sunday" clothes for all our traveling. I just felt they needed to look as good as Mom and Dad always do. :)

Baby in a Basket

If you'd like to see Caleb in action, check it out here. Sorry no sound...Just think of it as back in the days of the 50's and 60's.

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jigg

We just got back from spending a week in Corpus Christi with my (Jaime) family. My sister and her family live there; she has three children of her own. We had a great time. Here is our week in pictures. I'll explain along the way.

We all took the kids to play putt putt golf. Eventhough it was incredibly hot, the kids had a blast. Josiah was the most fun, running around everywhere and screaming at everything. He was soo excited. Well, they all were! He never let the ball completely stop but just kept hitting it to the hole. I finally gave up keeping score. It was too hard to count all the swings!

The 29th was Keith's birthday. That morning he went fishing with my dad and brother-in-law. The fish weren't biting too well at first but they ended up coming home with 6 keepers. My dad, "King Fisherman", caught five of them. Keith caught one...too bad for brother-in-law. :)

That night his parents came over and we had brisket and all the fixins. I think he had a nice birthday in the end. And, no, he's not really 23. As Willy Wonka would say, "Strike that. Reverse it."

The last day we were there we took the kids to the beach. They loved it. Too bad the beach was full of seaweed. You can see how bad it was in the picture. Of course, the kids didn't seem to notice.

Here are a few misc. pictures.

We had a great vacation, but I must say, it's great to be home again!
