Learning to Ride a Bike

I am ashamed to admit this, but my children do not know how to ride a bike. I have good excuses, though, like we have always lived in apartments (we're in a house now), and they didn't have a bike. That's probably the best one.

But last Christmas, my parents bought my kids each a bike. It was a great blessing. I figured knowing how to ride a bike would come in handy living in Northern Asia. So, they have been faithfully practicing every day for the past week. They've only practiced off and on before. I try to help them, but I guess I have too much of my dad in me because I just get real frustrated and then they tell me they'll do it by themselves. :) My dad was not the most patient and kind teacher. He once, while teaching me to drive, had me pull over and give him the definition of stop. How do you do that?? (You know I love you, Dad!)

Anyway, the kids have been practicing. Well, William got his first scrape from falling over. Way to go, William! At least he got it over with.

I then asked him how his scrape made him feel. This is the look he gave me. How pathetic!

This is for you, Papaw Stacy!

Here's Caleb saying "Papaw" (my dad) for the first time! Just precious.

Sorry it's soo dark. But you get the idea. :)

Just A-Slidin'...

Or was it swingin'? Well, anyways...

We've been enjoying the video feature on our camera. So, we videoed (is that a word?) Caleb slidin' down the slide in the back. So for your viewing pleasure:

And so you can get the real "feel" of Caleb sliding...we taped the camera to Caleb's head and had him slide again.

OK, so we didn't really tape it to his head.
